Closing & Engagment!

Feb 27th...A day We'll never forget! Not only is it my brother James' Birthday but today we Closed on our house!!! We drove to Delray Beach for our 2:30pm appt. Signed about 1,ooo papers and FINALLY we were handed our house keys, NO MORE LOCK BOX!! As we left the office Tommy wanted to head straight to the new house to see how the new keys worked :) I on the other hand wanted to run home and change into painting clothes and get to work..after much debate, Tommy won. Soon after I turned the key on our new house I knew exactly why. As I opened the door I wondered what all the stuff on the floor was, as I followed the "mess" I realized they were rose petals leading to a huge sign on the floor..awe, I thought Tommy's parents left us a sign congratulating us on our first home but as I read the sign more clearly I noticed the big white sign with Red lettering said "Jamie Lee Will You marry Me" It soon became apparent I was being proposed to! I looked over to see Tommy on one knee holding a Tiffany's box with the most beatiful ring, I'm pretty sure at this point he said "will you marry me" but I quickly realized the house alarm was about to go off..."Tommy the alarm!" he turned to punch in the code and I couldnt see a thing, makeup all over my face and tears running down my cheeks I jumped on him. We just hugged and kissed and smiled and I re read the sign and laughed and hugged a lot the next few moments. It was one of the happiest moments of my entire life. I stood in the doorway staring at the sign. We called our family completly overwhelmed in the moment. I cried to everyone who kept this a secret from me for months. I couldnt ask for a better person to be my husband or a better family to want to be a part of. I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest girl in the whole world right now!! After all the crying we got to work...cleaning, painting, priming all with my ring tucked away in a box to stay sparkling clean. keep checking our blog for house updates and pictures!
