Black Friday, leftover day, Xmas count down day!

Mom & I Shopped all day, Tommy & Scott hung lights. The house looks great & Clark Grizwald did a fantastic job with the outside lights! Once we were all full from leftovers, it was time to decorate our tree!! Blake hung the first ball on the tree :) Tommy & Blake were a team, he would hand blake an ornament, she would hang it on the tree ( or drop and brake it) then say MORE, this repeated for a very long time, & they both loved every minute of it! As we sipped our toddies and listened to xmas music our house became a Winter wonderland. Now if we could just have some snow??? It was so nice having everyone here to help us make this holiday so special. New traditions were made and we're looking forward to replaying them year after year!

Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for. We were so lucky to be able to spend our holiday surrounded by family & friends that Love us so much! It was hands down all around the table the best thanksgiving dinner any of us had ever eaten! We can't get enough, we have been eating it over & over & over...Tommy & I decided we're having Thanksgiving once a month! Everything single thing we had was homemade from scratch. For appetisers we had Jalapenos cream cheese puffs, peperoni bread puffs, and baked brie. We had honey suckle turkey,Pumpkin Muffin Stuffing, from Pumpkin muffins we made earlier in the week specifically for this amazing recipe! Cranberry relish, sweet mashed potatoes, spoon bread corn bread ahhhh to die for!! Apple pie, Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin bars, Oatmeal cookies....YUMMMMOOO! It was nice to see Patty & the boys after dinner and finally get to meet Bobby. She's been telling me all about him for over a month now :) We're very blessed to have such caring, loving, and supportive people in our lives, and most importantly each other :) Looking forward to keeping the Thanksgiving tradition at our house for many years to come!!

Tamarac Turkey Trot 09'

Mom, Tommy & I woke up bright and early for the 29th Annual Turkey trot 5K. We were very proud of mom for coming in 3rd place for her age group! We're getting a little envious though, the last 3 5K's we've done, she's won! We had a really good time this year. We stayed for the awards and dancing, you'll see from the pictures some of us danced more than others ;)

Cancun, Isla Mujeres...Mexico

Our jetBlue flight out of FLL had us in CUN by 10:00am! We were greeted by the driver we had pre arranged and enjoyed the 25 minute drive to the Casa Magna hotel. The hotel was gorgeous, our room was decorated with a baha Mexican flair, equipped with a flat screen tv and the most comfortable King size bed I've ever slept in. We had an HUGE balcony with an amazing view of the ocean, we slept with the balcony doors open so we could hear the waves throughout the night. We were in our bathing suits within 5 minutes of getting to our room. The pool at our hotel was gorgeous, we spent that whole first morning there relaxing. The ocean was just below the pool, and the ocean water was the most amazing color of (Azul) blue. Tommy met 2 older men from Missouri with whom he shared many coronas (see photos below) that night we went into Cancun for dinner. This was our first bus experience. it cost 15 pesos for us both to ride which is about $1.40 this and the boat is how we got around during our stay. We rode the bus into an area way past Cancun without quite so many tourists and enjoyed the local market. We purchased fresh bread just out of the oven for about 10cents a loaf. We bought cheese, fruit, and wine and nibbled on it as snacks on our balcony at night. on our third day we took the bus to La Tortuga and boarded a Ferry to La Isla mujeres (The Island of woman). Here we shopped along the streets and had the most amazing lunch on te beach. We shared Guacamole, and Civiche. Tommy drank Sol and ate fajitas and I had a fish fillet off the grill that was absolutely the best fish I have ever eaten. Our total bill came to 185 pesos which is about $14!!!! We couldn't believe it, what a deal! The most interesting site on the Island was the graves, it was just beautiful. The way they bury their loved ones is much different than how we do things here. We even saw the graves of a famous Pirate named Fermin Anonio Mundaca. Engraved on his head stone are the words (in Spanish) "As you are now, I once was. How I am now, you will be." This is the picture of the gray tombstone with a skull on it. We had such an amazing time and were happy to see another area of Mexico than our original vacation last year to Tulum. We look forward to Cozumel in February, which is one of our ports on the Cruise Wedding!!
